Wood Furniture Restoration, Refinishing
and Re-Creation
Located in North Vancouver, British Columbia
Woodsmithing is
dedicated to the restoration, refinishing and re-creation of wood
furniture including antique and contemporary treasures, from small,
individual pieces (like storage boxes, games tables or individual
chairs) to entire bedroom or dining-room suites. All work is to high
standards of craftsmanship using the most durable materials available
including fittings, fasteners, adhesives, paints, stains and waxes). Our
projects range from solid woods to exquisite veneers and from finely
polished hardwoods to grain-painted pine.
WE TAKE THE ENVIRONMENT SERIOUSLY
 We
follow a conscientious strategy when it comes to protecting the
environment. From start to finish, environmental considerations
play an important part in our furniture repair process.
We encourage our clients to repair rather than replace furniture
with new ones. We strive to restore furniture (antiques and
modern) to look like new without compromising the integrity of
the furniture.

Darren Smith has spent his entire life surrounded by antiques, artifacts
and art and grew up appreciating and being inspired by the natural beauty
of wood and by the design and construction techniques employed by
successive generations of North American and European furniture-makers.
Darren is a graduate of the highly regarded cabinet-making program at
Georgian College of Applied Arts & Technology in Barrie, Ontario.
